Top Five Skateboarding Boards

Skateboarding Boards

There are as many skateboarding boards as there are skateboarders, well not quite that many but you get my drift. Everybody has there own personal favorite and I guess I’m no different. I have been fortunate enough to be able to try out a lot of different skateboarding boards and I put together my top five list. Now this list isn’t comprehensive but these are the ones I would recommend to my friends and even my enemies. Remember, there are a lot of cheap boards out there, so if you are confused then just choose from my list below.

My Top Five Skateboarding Boards

These are in no particular order but I do really like Element, so I will make that the first on my skateboard favorites list.

Element Skateboards

Element has been around for a long time and have really carved a niche for themselves in the skateboarding world. After going through some troubling times they pulled it together and managed to get some big names to ride for them. Perhaps one of the biggest names was Bam Margera. The graphics are excellent and they have some nice decks to choose from. If you want a good inexpensive 7 ply board you can try their Triftwood deck. They also have some lightweight skateboarding boards that are state of the art.

Zero Skateboards

If you like a nasty board with skulls and gore then you’re gonna love Zero skateboarding boards. With skaters like Jamie Thomas and Chris Cole riding the Zero you know they are good. They have a nice line of affordable boards that won’t break the bank and they have some boards that will put a nice dent in it. I like the overall design of the board and they ride better if you put out a little more for some nice wheels.

Plan B Skateboards

Plan B is one of the newer skateboarding boards company to hit the pavement and they deserve an honorable mention here because they really do make a nice board. They have a basic 7 ply construction that is nothing special except for the quality of the construction. They will take a real beating and still hold up well. If you are gonna hit the streets hard then this board should give you everything you’re looking for and then some.

Powell Skateboards

Another ancient skateboard company that just puts out great skateboarding boards is Powell. You know if you’re riding a Powell you are riding on a good board. I have pushed this board to the limit and other than a few scratches she held up great. I’m not a big fan of the graphics but if you can look beyond that you can feel confident that this board is going to last you.

Birdhouse skateboards

I have to add Birdhouse to my top five list because of Tony Hawk. When a legend makes a skateboarding board you expect it to be good. This skateboard is an awesome board that is well constructed and designed for more adventurous types. Tony says they are using some type of Black 6 technology that is supposed to pop when you hit it right, I’m not sure what the technology is but I like the board.

There you have it, my top five skateboarding boards. Choosing a board you like is a very personal decision. There are things you will like with one skateboard and something else you will like with another. The trick is to find one that has most of what you like and then stick with it.
